Why voices last longer than signatures
The traditional guest book has a problem everyone knows but no one says: half the pages read "congratulations" and a signature. Not because guests have nothing to say — because standing with a pen, with people waiting behind you, is not a moment that produces thoughts.
The phone changes exactly that. The guest sits down, is alone for a minute, and talks. And because they talk instead of write, out come things that would never make it into a book: old stories, inside jokes, advice, voices that tremble. You even hear how much each one has had to drink, which is part of the charm.
The most powerful part does not show on the wedding day. It shows in ten years, when one of those people is no longer here, and you have their voice wishing you well. It is the only reason couples call us years later just to say thank you.
Practically: we set it up in a quiet spot, away from the speakers — otherwise the recording fills with bass and nothing is audible. It needs no operator standing over it; the phone explains itself. It does need one mention from the DJ, or half the guests think it is a decoration.
